All Member Organizations of Walk to End Domestic Violence, Inc. with 501(c)(3) status who provide direct services to victims of domestic violence are entitled to participate in the Walks GiveBack Program. The Program entitles Participating Organizations to receive back 80% of the pledge money that they raise through their individual team effort. The Walk Office will provide assistance to non-profit participating organizations, particularly the smaller agencies, to ensure the most profitable fundraising effort.

The remaining pledge money raised by the non-profit participating organizations, in addition to all of the pledge money raised by individuals, corporate and other non-corporate teams will be divided among the DV Walk sponsored programs described below.

The Walk Educational Scholarship Program provides funds to survivors for any type of educational program that will allow them to become financially independent and thereby free of their abusers. Educating survivors in turn enables them to work with and educate other victims of domestic violence who otherwise might not receive desperately needed assistance. Walk Educational Scholarships are available to any survivor of domestic violence.

The Emergency Assistance Fund is intended to provide funds on an emergency basis to victims of domestic violence who, for example, must flee with their children in the middle of the night in order to escape their abusers. Any Non-Profit Participating Organization that provides direct services to victims of domestic violence is entitled to complete the application form to receive emergency assistance funds to serve victims of domestic violence through their individual agencies

The Salon Project provides beauty salons with vital safety information as well as resources for managers, employees and clients that literally may save lives of victims of domestic violence. Beauty salons are important social settings for women and offer an opportunity to provide safety information to victims in a safe and supportive environment while away from their perpetrators.

New York Heals is a program designed to repair the physical injuries suffered by victims of domestic violence. The Walk has organized a team of board certified plastic, reconstructive, and maxillofacial surgeons who will provide their services free of charge. Physicians will respond to the emergency room at hospitals affiliated with the program if a victim is in need of emergency surgery. Otherwise, survivors complete a simple application form and will be scheduled for surgery within a few weeks time.
