About Oyster Arts, Inc.
Oyster Arts, Inc. was founded in 2000 to bring quality art programs into the lives of New York City children affected by domestic violence. Children make up the largest population in New York City’s domestic violence shelters. These children are “at risk” for poor school performance, aggressive behavior, low self-esteem, and difficulty establishing positive peer relationships. Oyster Arts’ programs are designed to meet the needs of youth affected by violence and help them cope with the challenges they face.
